Hope you are doing well.
Wanted to catch up on some learnings this past month.
This is a good place for me to document and if anyone finds any value from it can use it as they will.
Today I must start with a topic that I’ve been battling for multiple reasons.
Personally this is an achievement for me.
The topic is politics.
It is not a beautiful topic, but I apologise it has been everywhere and it is time I destroyed this construct.
Or maybe I shouldn’t break it explicitly. It is not really my place to speak on it.
I’ll leave you with a message I’m trying to say, but don’t want to say explicitly.
The illusion of separation is to maintain control.
You are smart.
Moving unto other logs.
I created a control system for focus. Was reading this book Dr. Shiva System and Revolution.
Although I was aware of systems, my understanding of systems was incomplete.
I thought all systems were y = f(x)
You give it an input (x) there is some computation (f) and there is output (y).
But, there is another type of system.
Control systems.
I don’t know the equation, but it looks something like this
This is the thermostat system.
You input your desired temperature, it’ll set it, take feedback from environment and compare if the temperature is according to desired and adjust cooling/heating. Send feedback to sensor and compare again and keep adjusting till it reaches desired temperature and adapt to changes.
Control systems seem more adapted to reality. In real world, there are many changes, and systems need to adapt to such changes.
Control systems are beautiful.
Why did I make focus control system, because my distractions are like turbulent impulses.
Let me check this and open new tab to listen to this or that.
This system helps achieve that.
So I made this chrome extension that can detect such impulses for me, there are few topics which are impulses and I try to avoid but fall.
The system really is a game, if you get distracted it’ll reset your points and you’ll have to start over. If you however stay focused for 2h you get compounding benefits. This should incentivize better focus.

Oops, got caught in a distraction
Very helpful for becoming aware of impulses and the openai api costs will lower the need for everyone to waste opening 1000s of tabs.
I got gpt pro, $20/mo. Is a fun tool. I have been taking absolutely 1000% advantage of it.
Generating images, creating gpt bots.
I created a Krishna GPT (from Bhagwad Gita). Funny, Bhagwad Gita is all questions that Arjuna is asking Krishna and now I am asking Krishna in GPT. Incredible.
I created a GPT for learning called Value Quest (need a better name). The idea was that we can use GPT for our learning. We tell it the topic we want to learn, it’ll generate exercises, simulate examples and ask us to solve them and then tell us if we are right/wrong. For each right we get a point, for each wrong we lose a point.
So you can learn negotiations, critical thinking, programming, inferring sentiments from 100s of comments, seeing common themes in questions. You decide the topic GPT creates exercises.
If you think it is getting easy you can raise the difficulty.
You can spend a lifetime and be at the foothills of a skill, but you might be better at using it. That is really the need.
The exercises are designed so you can play with that skill and evolve.
They train GPT to help us, we use GPT to train ourselves. Ironic.
Win win.
I also have been learning to use google keyword planner with the GPT bot.
Why?
Very powerful tool, I think people who are building should definitely use it.
Gives a pointer of what language people are using for searching “productivity tracker” and “time tracker” although seem the same, they are 10-100 and 100-1k searches/mo different.
Will be using for my new ideas and existing projects too.
Oh and I moved all my artwork (ai really, not me) to new twitter account: @_nishu_art
Anyway. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day :)
